Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 May 2026

These terms govern your use of Yield, a macOS menu bar app distributed by Viget Labs ("we," "us"). By installing or using Yield, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

What Yield is

Yield is a free desktop utility that reads time entries from your Harvest account and assignments from your Forecast account and shows them in the macOS menu bar. You can also create, edit, pause, resume, and delete Harvest time entries from the app. Yield runs entirely on your Mac and talks directly to the Harvest and Forecast APIs — there is no Yield-operated server, account, or backend.

Cost

Yield is free to download and use. We don't charge for it, and we don't expect to.

Your responsibilities

Third-party services

Yield depends on services we don't control:

If any of these services change, become unavailable, or terminate your access, Yield's behavior depends on them — there is nothing we can do to keep Yield working in their absence.

Disclaimer

Yield is provided "as is" and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that Yield will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the time entries it reads or writes will be accurate. Always verify hours that matter — invoicing decisions, contractual deliverables, payroll — directly in Harvest itself.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Viget Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to use) Yield.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may add features, change features, or stop developing Yield at any time. If these terms change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above; material changes will also be mentioned in the release notes for the version that includes them. Continued use of Yield after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You can stop using Yield at any time — quit the app, drag it to the Trash, and (optionally) follow the uninstall steps in the repository README to remove preferences and tokens. We may stop distributing Yield or its updates at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
